UK Troops Received Training in Israel During Gaza Genocide
Al Carns, a Ministry of Defence minister, confirmed that "Fewer than five British Armed Forces personnel have studied on educational staff courses in Israel since October 2023."
The disclosure followed a November 18 parliamentary inquiry from Your Party co-founder Zarah Sultana, who questioned the Defence Ministry about "whether any British armed forces officers have studied or trained at Israeli military colleges since October 2023," according to a Scottish publication.
Investigative platform Declassified UK broke the story initially, though the specific training locations and military branch affiliations of the personnel remain undisclosed.
The revelation comes months after Israel faced exclusion from the Royal College of Defence Studies in Britain this past September. Vernon Rodney Coaker, another Ministry of Defense minister, justified the ban by stating the Israeli government's choice to intensify its Gaza military campaign is "wrong."
More recently, The Telegraph documented the British military's conspicuous absence from a significant international gathering organized by Israel for disseminating battlefield lessons from the Gaza conflict.
The Defence Ministry acknowledged receiving an invitation to the multi-day strategic conference held near Tel Aviv last week but opted against sending any British military officers or government representatives, the publication noted.
